EU Commissioner Hahn in Pompeii
A year and a half and a big goal: protecting Pompeii. Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, has signed an action plan with the Italian government to use all available EU funds of 105 million euros by the end of 2015.
“We’re going in the right direction,” said the Hahn, who asked EU Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker to remain focused on one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.
The Italian Euranet Plus partner station Radio 24 II Sole interviewed Commissioner Hahn, the Italian Culture Minister Dario Franceschini and the superintendent of Pompeii, Massimo Osanna, about how optimistic the involved parties are in keeping the strict timetable. (audio in Italian)
