In 2014 the EU institutions substantially delayed the approval and implementation of the cohesion policy for the 2014-2020 EU budget framework.
According to Corina Creţu, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, among the reasons for the delay is that the legislative package for the 2014-2020 period had been approved six months behind the schedule.
The European Parliament held debates on the issue following a motion by member of European Parliament Iskra Mihaylova (ALDE), Vice Chair of the Committee for Regional Development. The Bulgarian Euranet Plus partner BNR has all the details.
